Garden Tour #1 will take place on Sunday, September 12.

The first stop is the garden of Steve Singer.  Steve Singer’s home garden is located in Kenosha WI, south of Milwaukee.  Steve is the proprietor of Wisconsin Roses, a source for many wonderful exhibition roses.  Additionally, Steve has hybridized excellent show roses:  ‘Olivia Rose’, ‘Swing Time’, ‘Kristin Singer’ to name a few. Sited in a modestly sized residential lot, Steve’s garden has raised beds containing both old favorites and new varieties.  Roses are in-ground as well as in pots. While Steve’s hybridizing is located in two locations farther south, perhaps we will be lucky enough to see some up and coming beauties, brought in specially for this tour.  Photo Gallery

The next stop will be to Piper's Grove, the garden of Joe & Carrie Bergs.  This 15 acre, circa 1900 farmstead has multiple rose gardens that produce consistent winners for the Bergs. You will have the chance to wander the property to see the various collections of rose varieties and to relax in the shade of their heritage maple tree, estimated to be 156 years old.  Joe and Carrie will have their method of winter protection on display so you can learn how these beautiful roses make it through our Wisconsin winters.
